Retroreflective sheeting

Find retroreflective traffic films, both permanent and construction site films

Retroreflective sheeting is another element of road and urban safety. They are designed to reflectorize fixed traffic signs, construction site signs and persistent traffic delineators that are placed vertically on the road. These films help to make signs visible both day and night. It is important that retroreflection does not lose effectiveness both in low light conditions and at night. Therefore, these films help the driver to see the signs more quickly and prevent an accident.

T2S Ibérica has a wide range of retro-reflective films that adapt to the different types of signs (fixed or temporary) and the material they are made of (metal or plastic). In addition, they are sheets that have passed a strict approval process and are highly durable, despite the weather exposure (sun, rain, wind…) to which they are subjected.

What kind of retro-reflective films can you find in our catalogue?

Definitive traffic sign vinyls:

We have CE marked and non-CE marked retroreflective films available. These films are designed for the manufacture of traffic signs and traffic guidance devices and are intended for long-term outdoor use in the open air. They are manufactured with an adhesive that guarantees an excellent grip on metallic backgrounds such as aluminium or galvanized sheet steel. Some models are available in up to 10 colours, and can offer a lifespan of up to a decade.

  • Vinyls for traffic signs on construction sites:

The same material is not always used for construction site signage, so T2S has vinyls for metal signs, vinyls for plastic signs and vinyls for flexible signs and cones.

The models Oralite 5960 and Oralite 5860, are designed for the manufacture of traffic control and beaconing signs, and also for information and warning signs. All their uses are therefore intended for temporary outdoor use, such as construction site signs, information signs, traffic signs or warning signs.

As far as plastic signs are concerned, we have four models suitable for this type of signage: Oralite 5930 M, Oralite 5930, Oralite 5830 and Oralite 5430. They have been developed for the manufacture of traffic control and guidance signs, to be adhered to polyolefin backgrounds. Due to their outdoor use, they have a high resistance to weathering, waterproofing, and corrosion. They also have a good instant adhesion and a durability of up to 5 years.

Finally, within this category, we have materials created for flexible signs and cones: Oralite 2018, which is applied by heat to the surface, and Radiance, which is a retroreflective sheet that can be die-cut and cut with a plotter without having to seal the edges.

  • Translucent for ultimate traffic signs:

These are protective films that are applied to the surface of the sign. We have different models, depending on the objective we want to achieve. Oralite anti-sticker, is a protective film that will save time and money, as its light relief facilitates the removal of stickers easily and without leaving any adhesive residue. Anti-graffiti film is suitable for both printed and unprinted signs, and offers protection against graffiti vandalism thanks to its dirt-repellent surface. Another highlight is the anti-condensation protective film, which prevents water droplets from forming on the surface of the signs so that their performance is not impaired.

  • Signage inks:

At T2S Ibérica we have various models of signage inks, a two-component, solvent-based product that hardens quickly and once dry has a glossy surface to resist weathering. It is applied with reflective films.

What does it mean that a retroreflective film is CE marked?2024-04-04T16:50:56+02:00

It is called “retroreflective films with CE marking” to those films that have the CE certification according to the European Evaluation Document EAD 120001-01-0106 that regulates the manufacture of permanent vertical circulation signalling.

Because it is a certification for permanent road signs, this regulation only covers sheets that adhere to metal bottoms, such as aluminium or galvanized steel sheet and have excellent resistance to corrosion and solvents.

In T2S Ibérica we have 5 different types of retroreflective films with CE marking: Oralite 9910, Oralite 6910, Oralite 6710, Oralite 5910 and Oralite 5810. All of them have their specific specifications,

On what kind of surfaces can retroreflective films be placed?2024-04-04T16:51:03+02:00

Retroreflective films can be placed on a wide range of metal and plastic surfaces and flexible signs. Therefore, in the T2S Ibérica catalog we have several options, specially designed to fit every need.

Vinyls for metal traffic signs are usually used on aluminum or galvanized steel sheet. These signs can be seen both day and night, and are essential on traffic roads, when it comes to directing traffic and preventing road accidents.

Plastic sign stickers are essential for informing certain guidelines, giving directions, or notifying drivers of any changes. The sheets of this type of Iberian T2S are specially made so that they can adhere easily and with great resistance to plastic surfaces.

In T2S Ibérica we also have vinyls for flexible signs and cones, as part of the vinyl catalogue for traffic signs in works. We have two different retroreflective vinyls of this type: the Oralite 2018, which is applied by heat on flexible surfaces such as cones and self-rolling temporary signals, and the Oralite Radiance, which consists of a robust sheet highly reflective and resistant to inclement weather, which can be die-cut and cut with a plotter, without the need to seal the edges.

What are retroreflective films used for?2024-04-04T16:51:10+02:00

Retroreflective films are a key element of road and urban safety. Its function is to help make the signs visible both day and night, as they are designed to reflect fixed traffic signs, construction signs and persistent traffic delineators that are placed vertically on the road.

The ultimate goal of placing these sheets on the road is to help the driver to glimpse the signs more quickly. In this way, it seeks to prevent a possible accident.

That is why it is significant not only to place retroreflective films where they are required, but also to ensure that they comply with all established regulations on materials of this type. To place in plastic signs, in T2S Ibérica we have six different types of retroreflective sheets that guarantee the best day and night vision. All these designs are designed to facilitate the maximum placement, as well as to guarantee its adhesion and resistance.

The retroreflective sheets for plastic signs of the Oralite 5930M Prismatic Construction Grade model have a medium-term duration and are indicated to signal construction sites, construction zones and certain warnings on traffic routes.

The main characteristic of Oralite 5930M sheets is that they are formed by a single layer, which prevents dirt from entering the edges. In addition, thanks to the fact that they are made of microprismatic sheet of level II monolayer, they are highly waterproof. They also stand out for having a PVC film surface with a special treatment for plastics. For all these characteristics, they have a long service life, which is 5 years.

Oralite 5930 plastic sign vinyls are designed to be glued on polyolefin bases and surfaces, due to the adhesive they have. It emphasizes its great adhesion and its ease of gluing, which is almost instantaneous. Its reflection values comply with EN 12899-1 (Europe) and the diurnal reflection colors meet international specifications for reflective materials of this class.

The Oralite 5930M sheet is a level II microprismatic vinyl that is extremely flexible. It stands out for its resistance to corrosion and solvents, which gives it a useful life of 5 years.

ORALITE 5830 plastic sign vinyls are made of a level II microspherical sheet. They are indicated for signs and traffic guidance devices and warnings. They are specific for plastics and guarantee good adhesion immediately. Furthermore, they are flexible vinyls that resist the application of solvents and corrosion, which have a useful life of 5 years.
